Yogo Sapphires are only found in one area called Yogo Gulch, located in the Little Belt mountains of Montana. They were first discovered accidentally by gold prospectors in the 1880s. The perfect crystallization of Yogo Sapphires during their geologic formation, allows them to have even coloring and very pristine clarity. They are more rare than diamonds and are one of the few sapphires that have a deep, rich, clear color without needing to be heated. They come in varying shades of blue and purple and are my absolute favorite colored gemstone.
